AUCKLAND: John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand received H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to the Prime Minister of New Zealand and their Highness wishes to New Zealand for more progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and New Zealand and the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries to boost and develop these relations.

H.H. expressed his hope that the visit to New Zealand will contribute in bringing benefits for both friendly countries and their peoples, noting the emergence of positive signs which will encourage to broaden and deepen the channel of bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand praised the UAE for providing investment environment which contributes to attracting global business and investment projects, leading the country to become a financial hub, geared for international companies to launch their operations from the UAE to the countries of the region, wishing the UAE to achieve more successes in various fields.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the existing cooperation opportunities between the UAE and New Zealand and ways to step up efforts in the development of joint economic and trade relations and encourage investments in several areas such as food security, tourism, education and agriculture, with the aim of serving the interests of the two countries.
