Prince Charles of Wales and heir apparent to the throne of the United Kingdom yesterday visited the mausoleum of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

He was accompanied during the visit by Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs, officials from the Department of Islamic Affairs & Awqaf and from the foreign ministry and British Ambassador Edward Anthony Oakden.

Prince Charles recorded his comments on the death of Sheikh Zayed in the visitors notebook, where he expressed his deep grief at the loss of a great leader, who made every effort to support his people, brotherly and friendly countries without distinction between race or ethnicity. He also toured the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, scheduled for official opening in September. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
