A UAE military plane arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday with 10 victims from the earthquake-hit areas of Pakistan aboard. The victims, one child, four men and five women, were admitted to the Mafraq and the Zayed Military hospitals and started to get medical treatment.

The airlifting operations are in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The victims were received at the airport by the Director of Medical Services at the UAE Armed Forces, The Commanding Officer of the Zayed Military Hospital and Pakistani Ambassador Air Marshal (Retired) Syed Qaisar Hussain. The Commanding Officer of Zayed Military Hospital said that all arrangements were made to receive the survivors, some of them are seriously injured.

"We have also prepared fully-equipped medical centres in Abu Dhabi's Suweihan and Sharjah's Al Falah camps," he added. The Pakistani Ambassador praised support given by Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed to the victims of the devastating earthquake. The Armed Forces' field hospital in Bala Kott, the worst hit area in Pakistan, is still providing treatment to the victims. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
