Manila - The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has offered humanitarian aid to the victims of floods in Philippines. The relief aid, which included food stuff items, was received by Rahma Al Shamsi, a Consul at the UAE Embassy in Philippines to be distributed to the families affected by the recent floods and hurricanes.

Al Shamsi said the relief aid stems from the UAE leadership and government's belief of significance of humanitarian assistance to alleviate suffering of the victims of floods and natural disasters. He added that such aid reflects keenness of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to assist the needy categories.

For their part, the Filipino charity organisations hailed the efforts of the RCA under chair of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the RCA, for their sustained efforts to ease suffering of the needy categories. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
