RCA dispatches two relief planes to China

Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has instructed to speed up sending humanitarian relief programme to the victims of quake, which recently devastated south west Chinese province of Sichuan.

As per this order, two relief planes carrying humanitarian delegation would be sent to alleviate suffering of the victims amid reports the victims are increasing in number following the quake aftershocks.

Saleh Mohammed Al Mulla, Deputy Secretary General for Relief and Projects at the RCA said, "The RCA has actually commenced dispatching the relief in the light of Sheikh Hamdan's directives to speed up sending and distributing aid in coordination with UAE Embassy in Beijing and the Chinese Red Cross".

He added that the two planes would carry 80 tonnes, including food, water, tents, blankets, medicines and others. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
