The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has embarked on sending urgent relief to those affected in the recent incidents in Kenya. The move follows instructions of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and chairman of the RCA. The aid programme includes food, medicines and shelter in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Kenyan Red Crescent Society. Earlier, the RCA received humanitarian appeals from humanitarian agencies on exacerbation of situation in Kenya due to violence, following the recent elections. Khalifa Nasser Al Suwaidi, board chairman of the RCA said the instructions of Sheikh Hamdan were in line with efforts to help those affected in the incidents in Kenya, adding that Sheikh Hamdan is closely following the situation. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
