The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has started a programme to distribute Iftar meals to the Palestinian refugees stranded in the Syrian-Iraqi borders. Dr Saleh Al Taei, Secretary General of the RCA, said the programme was implemented as part of the Authority's drive to improve living standards of the Palestinians.

"We are anxiously observing the conditions of over 1,000 Palestinian families stranded in the borders for a long time. A delegation from the RCA visited them and evaluated the humanitarian situation to identify their needs," Al Taei said.

The RCA provided food parcels containing basic needs for Ramadan in collaboration with the Syrian Red Crescent Society and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). – Emirates News Agency, WAM
