The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has started distributing Zakat al-Fitr, a charity given to the poor at the end of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, to tens of thousands of families and the most vulnerable and underprivileged people in the in the country and overseas to help them celebrate Eid Al-Fitr in style. Around Dh7 million will be given out to 8474 eligible families (Dh4 million) in Abu Dhabi, Al-Ain, Western Region, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Qaiwain and Fujairah as well as to beneficiaries overseas in 60 countries (Dh3 million). – Emirates News Agency, WAM
