RCA distributes humanitarian aid to displaced in South Sudan

Bor - The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has distributed huge quantities of food stuff, clothes, blankets, shelter materials and children devices to the needy people in Bor town, capital of Jonglei State in South Sudan. The move follows the instructions of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the RCA.

The RCA staff supervised distribution of the humanitarian aid to the beneficiary inside Bor town and the neighbouring areas. At arrival in Bor town, the RCA delegation headed by Saleh Hussein Al Jaberi, head of relief section at the RCA, held a coordinating meeting with Minister of Finance Kengen Jakorok and Minister of Health Dr Agot Alier. They discussed ways of getting the relief to the needy and how to expand umbrella of relief to cover the needy categories. Al Jaberi briefed Jonglei state officials about the RCA relief plans and programmes. On his part, Jakorok thanked the UAE and its people for their support of the needy Sudanese people. He also lauded the role of the RCA under chairmanship of Sheikh Hamdan. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
