Red Crescent Authority has rushed relief aid to the flood victims in Bangladesh and China caused by continuous rain which devastated many villages in those countries. The relief programmes were carried out in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the local authorities in the affected countries, according to the Acting Secretary General of Red Crescent Authority Dr. Saleh Moosa Al Thae.

He said that the RCA acted in no time as it received a number of requests for extending humanitarian help to alleviate the sufferings of flood victims in China and Bangladesh. The Authority has always responded in a fast manner whenever there arose similar situations in different countries in the past, Al Thae added.

He also said that RCA maintains strong relations with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as well as other relief organizations. The relief programmes followed by RCA under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority have earned the movement a reputation of being in the forefront of humanitarian services on the international level.
