Tashkent - A UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) delegation led by Dr. Saleh Al Taie, Deputy Secretary General of RCA for Relief and Projects, met yesterday with representatives of departments of international organisations and information at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry and Uzbekistan National News Agency. Al Taie told WAM that the meeting had reviewed the conditions of refugees and their basic needs especially from food, covers, medicines and drinking water.

He said that the RCA visit to Uzbekistan aims to study the situation of refugees on the ground in order to assess their present and future requirements. 'Assistance to those refugees could be delivered either by purchasing them from the local market or bringing them through Dubai supplies office,' he explained. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
