RCA offers Dh2.02 million in urgent assistance to Yemeni refugees

The UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) on Wednesday said it offered Dh2.023 million in urgent assistance to refugees in a Yemeni cities.

Dispatched to Yemen upon directives from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region '&' Chairman of RCA, the package of assistance included garments, blankets for more than one hundred thousand internally displaced people in Sanaa, Aden, Lahaj and Taez, RCA said in a press release.

The relief efforts is coordinated with the RCA's office in Yemen, the UAE's embassy in Sanaa, Yemeni Red Crescent and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The UAE's humanitarian agency added that it will make more efforts will be made to help minimise the effects of the bad humanitarian situation in Yemen. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
