RCA open heart surgery team conducts operation in Morocco

Rabat - An international open-heart surgery team representing the UAE Red Crescent Authority will start here today Phase 2 of its mission in Morocco, during which the team will conduct open heart surgery operations, diagnose and treat a number of related cases for poor people for free.

The surgery operations will be conducted at the Sheikh Zayed and the Ibn Seena hospitals here in Rabat in collaboration with the Moroccan ministry of health and the Moroccan Red Crescent Society.

The team's mission to Morocco was to translate into action the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the personal follow-up of Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the RCA, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the aim of reaching out to the poor in Morocco suffering from heart diseases.

The medical team involved in the open heart surgery operations is made up of open-heart surgeons from France, South Africa, Canada, Syria and the UAE. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
