RCA opens relief centre in Yemen's Edid district

The UAE Red Crescent Society opened yesterday the Emirates Centre in the Yemeni district of Edid to provide relief assistance to the people affected by the floods which hit Yemen.

The centre's opening came in keeping with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister '&' Chairman of the RCA.

The centre will also act as a point for medical convoys and vaccination campaigns to protect people in the affected areas from epidemics and water-borne diseases. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
