RCA provides aid to Sudan's flood victims

The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has launched a relief operation to provide aid to people affected by the floods across Sudan.

The move follows the directives by His Highness President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The effort is being followed up by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region.

RCA is coordinating the delivery of the humanitarian aid to beneficiaries in different states with the Sudanese Embassy and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.

RCA is procuring the relief material for its operation from Sudan's local markets.

The humanitarian agency's Sudan operation is in answer to a call fro help from Sudan's Red Crescent Society when a wave of floods hit the country displacing thousands of people. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
