The UAE Red Crescent Authority sent yesterday a medical team to Che Sada in Pakistan to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The RCA medical team is roaming the isolated, floods-stricken towns and villages to provide urgent health care to the affected population. The team who carried medical supplies with him from Peshawar conducted an awareness programme to educate the local population on prevention methods against water-borne communicable diseases that are common during time of floods.

Dr. Mohammed Salah, a volunteer doctor from the Abu Dhabi Police Health Services and member of the RCA medical team, said most cases that examined and treated by the team were suffering from eye and skin ills and intestinal (Gastrointestinal) disorders that are caused by environment pollution, malnutrition and unhealthy conditions during stay in camps. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
