Peshawar - The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has been playing vital role in tackling the crises and catastrophes as it responds to the relief calls from the international organisations to speed up delivery of relief aid to victims worldwide.

The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and follow from HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Western Region, Chairman of the RCA.

The RCA focuses in its first response to relief call on delivery of urgent relief aid to the victims, treatment of injured and sick, especially children and women, being the weakest categories at the disaster zones.

During the recent humanitarian crisis in Pakistan caused by devastating floods, the RCA was there as it immediately heeded the relief call from the Pakistani government, people and international organisations. â€" Emirates News Agency, WAM
