Areesh - The UAE plane, carrying 40 tons of medicines and other medical devices landed yesterday at the Egyptian Airport of Al Areesh. The move is part of the UAE's aerial bridge to aid the victims of the recent Israel aggression on the Gaza strip.

Based on the directives from the UAE leadership, the RCA has intensified its relief efforts by land and air to better dire humanitarian conditions of the Gazans.

The UAE delegation in the relief trip was headed by Suhail Rashid Al Qadi, director of the RCA branch in Fujairah. They were received at Al Areesh Airport by Rashid bin Al Zafna Al Afari, deputy consul at the UAE Embassy to Egypt.

Al Qadi said the humanitarian efforts shouldered by the UAE in Gaza "reflect care and concern of the UAE leadership to improve the living conditions of brothers in Gaza", adding that the UAE had followed closely and monitored the Gaza plight since day one.

He noted that the UAE Embassy in Cairo contributed 50 vehicles, carrying 300 tonnes of various food items and 30, 000 tons of blankets to the land convoy, which headed to Gaza during the conflict in cooperation with the RCA delegation. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
