Kabul - A team from the UAE Red Crescent Authority, RCA, headed by Ali Obeid Al Zaabi, Director of the RCA' Office in Kabul, yesterday visited several poverty-stricken areas to acquaint themselves with their needs and offer them necessary relief supply, as part of the RCA campaign to extend relief supplies to the Afghan people. Al Zaabi also visited the Kabul Engineering University, where he met with Dr. Meer Fakhr Aldin, Chancellor of the University, who briefed him on the university requirements, including shortage of water in the campus.

Fakhr Aldin also pointed out that the walls of the school classes need to be repaired and construction of a mosque that can accommodate 250 persons and a cafeteria are urgently required. Al Zaabi directed that the drilling of a well to be expedited to meet demands by students for water. The drilling of water wells in Afghanistan is in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and close supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the RCA, to extend urgent relief supplies to the Afghan people.
