RCA to boost partnership with UN agencies

UAE Red Crescent Authority discussed yesterday with six UN agencies the ways for enhancing partnership in implementing humanitarian and relief operations. The UN agencies included United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Children's Fund ( UNICEF), UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the World Food Programme (WFP). The meeting was chaired by Khalifa Nasser Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of RCA and attended by representatives from the various UN agencies. The representatives of UN agencies hailed the paramount role of UAE in implementing humanitarian programmes and relief operations around the world. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
