RCA to launch Friday major donation campaign for Gaza

The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will launch Friday major relief campaign for Gaza strip. The UAE local TV channels will cover the campaign in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The move follows instructions from President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the RCA HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan to collect donations for those affected in Gaza strip.

The campaign will be aired live from 02pm- 09pm. The donations will be received at the branches of the RCA and at some commercial centres across the country, and through sms. A number of volunteers are expected to participate in support of the Palestinians in Gaza. Titled 'relief them', the calls will be received at Tel. number 800733 inside UAE and Tel. number 0097126919170 outside UAE. The donations from the UAE nationals and expatriates will be received through sms messages sent to number 9010 to donate Dh10 and 9050 to donate Dh50, 9100 to donate Dh100 and through 9200 to donate Dh100 in support of the Palestinian people.

The campaign also allocated the bank accounts at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank 20000417, Dubai Islamic Bank 003-520-5346754, National Bank of Abu Dhabi 01-55189038, Sharjah Islamic Bank 007-006-445518 and Emirates Islamic Bank 0071-679679-006 to receive donations.

Ahmed Yusuf Ghaith Al Suwaidi, secretary general of the RCA, said the RCA has stepped up all its cadres and volunteers to make the campaign successful, adding that the RCA urges philanthropists to respond to the initiative.

He added that the RCA has coordinated with the Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Authority to stress the humanitarian campaign in the Friday sermon. . – Emirates News Agency, WAM
