A delegation from the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) yesterday left for Iraq on a humanitarian mission. The delegation is headed Dr. Saleh Moussa , Director of Emergency and Relief Unit at the RCS. The visit of the delegation comes in line with the RCS policy of extending help to those in distress around the world. It is also in response to a plea by the Iraqi Red Crescent Society to provide urgent assistance to the needy in that country, said Khalifa Nasser Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors. The delegation will assess the needs of the people and also deliver relief items. While in Iraq, the delegation will explore ways of cooperation between the Iraqi Red Crescent Society and other humanitarian organisations. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
