Two planes with relief supplies from the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, have arrived here to deliver relief assistance to victims of the earthquake, which hit last month a number of towns and villages in Al Hoceima. The consignment, which is part of an air bridge launched by the RCS to reach out to those affected by the earthquake, was delivered in line with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and RCS Chairman.

The planes were received on arrival by Salim Al Mansouri, Charge d'Affaires' at the UAE Embassy and Suhail Al Qadhi, Head of the RCS delegation currently in Morocco. According to Al Qadhi, the planes, the fourth and fifth in the operation, delivered 60 tonnes of tents to bring the total tents delivered so far by the RCS to 1,700 tents, which, Moroccan officials said, had been of immense benefit as they (tents) have provided temporary shelter to 170 families, made homeless by the devastating quake.
