The UAE Red Crescent Society yesterday delivered six ambulance vehicles to the Iraqi Red Crescent Society. The vehicles, equipped with necessary medical facilities, constitute the first batch of a total ten vehicles to be delivered to the Iraqi RCS in accordance with the orders of H.H President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The remaining four vehicles will be delivered soon and will be distributed to other hospitals in Iraq. "The UAE , through its RCS, has steadfastly stood by side of the Iraqi people throughtout their suffering and therefore deserve every appreciation” said Dr. Hayder Al Houseini, a physician with the Iraqi RCS. He said the vehicles will be distributed in areas of Southern Iraq, particularly the outlying areas where medical services are virtually non-existent. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM).
