Beirut - The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has donated an ambulance to Alma Municipality in South Lebanon to boost its humanitarian services along the border. In remarks during a ceremony to deliver the ambulance, UAE ambassador to Lebanon Mohammed Sultan Saif Al Suweidi said the RCS move was line with the UAE stance to assist Lebanon in its reconstruction efforts.

"This humanitarian tradition was set by the late Sheikh Zayed and further upheld by President H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE commitment to support Lebanon is underscored by its numerous initiatives, notably the UAE-Lebanese Solidarity Project for demining South Lebanon". This ambulance will be used for transporting patients and wounded of the Southern Lebanon, an area which suffered for decades of occupation, said Al Suweidi. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
