RCS finances Dh 15-m housing project in Jerusalem

The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) will finance the construction works of a residential township to house 58 families in this holy city. The construction of Dh 15-million project, which will be named after UAE's late president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is to begin sometime this month. "This vital housing project in Jerusalem comes within the framework of our humanitarian strategy to render assistance people of low income," said RCS Chairman Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, citing the Jenin rehabilitation project as another example of the agency's support for the Palestinian people.

He disclosed that the RCS would launch yet another project to build more than 600 houses in Rafah. "We will soon celebrate the completion of Dh 228-million Sheikh Zayed city in Gaza, which is being financed by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund." (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
