RCS holds meeting with Sri Lankan minister

Colombo - A delegation from the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, currently in Sri Lanka to have first hand information about the situation in that country and distribute relief assistance to the victims of the Tsunami disaster, held here yesterday a meeting with the Sri Lankan Minister of Development, Environment and Natural Resources, Abdul Hamid Mohammed Fawzi, who is also a member of the Sri Lankan Emergency Relief Committee.

During the meeting, which was held in the presence of the UAE Ambassador, Mahmoud Mohammed Mahmoud Al Mahmoud, they discussed special arrangements to distribute the relief assistance to the affected people in that country. So far the RCS had delivered to Sri Lanka a total of 135 tonnes of relief supplies, which were jointly distributed to the victims by the UAE RCS and the Sri Lankan Red Cross Society.
