Jerusalem - The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) is currently implementing construction projects worth Dh30 million in Palestine. The projects comprise schools, hospitals, mosques, disabled centres and residential apartments. Most of the projects fall in the West Bank.

According to Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, RCS Secretary General, the projects are part of the continued aid to the Palestinian people, a programme that has been in motion over the last five years. The agency has so far spent over half a billion dirham in aid to the needy in Palestine.

The spending of an additional Dh30 million comes in the wake of the successful construction projects undertaken by the RCS in the past and which included the reconstruction of Jenin refugee camp at the cost of Dh100 million and the subsequent reconstruction of Rafah city at the cost of Dh80 million.
