Gaza - The UAE Red Crescent Society announced here today that it implemented two medical projects in Gaza Refugee Camp worth US$220,000. The projects comprised distribution of medical equipment to a number of medical centres which serve refugees. These equipment included ultra-sound, ENT chair and other badly needed equipment, said Yusuf Al Hadad, Director of the UAE Friends Society. He said the UAE RCS also distributed medical glasses to the needy in Rafah camp, which is just one of the many charity projects run by the UAE RCS. Hadad said that citizens who received eye glasses, numbering about a 100, were extremely grateful to Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the RCS for this generous offer. They also expressed their profound gratitude to the UAE and its leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for alleviating their suffering. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
