Soqotra, Yemen - The UAE Red Crescent Society's medical team which is currently visiting Yemen, continued to operate on patients suffering blindness and cataract. The RCS camp in the island of Soqotra was thronged with men, women and children seeking to get cured from eye diseases. Ahmed Abdullah Al Ali, the team leader, said doctors helped a number of patients regain their sight. "The patients were all praise and thanks to President his Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. A lot of them were diagnosed with cataract, inflammatory cornea, eye dryness, eye socket swellings and total blindness and were given treatment accordingly," he added.
