A plane carrying 35 tonnes of assorted relief materials donated by the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) arrived in this capital city of Northern Darfur state in West Sudan for distribution among victims of the conflict there. UAE's ambassador to Khartoum Essa Al Nu'aimi said his country's support for Sudan "coincides with H.H. President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Accession Day and is a manifestation of his keenness to extend a helping hand to the brothers." "The assistance of the RCS to the Darfur victims is well received by the Sudanese government and people as well as charity agencies," said Al Nu'aimi. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
