RCS relief supplies reaches Jalalabad

(WAM) In line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and close supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, the RCS succeeded to deliver the third caravan of trucks of relief supplies to Afghan town of Jalalabad inside the Afghan territories in spite of rough road difficulties.



Mohammed Habroush Al Rumaithy, RCS Board Member, said that the RCS third convoy, which reached today Jalalabad was including 20 trucks carrying foodstuff, winter clothes, medicine and other items as to alleviate the sufferings of the Afghans who left their houses and are still living inside Afghanistan. Al Rumaithy reiterated that the RCS will continue distributing relief supplies, which includes foodstuff and medicine to Afghan refugees over the coming days as to extend relief supplies to the Afghan people who is suffering severe shortage for these materials. On the other hand, the second UAE plane carrying 40 tons of winter clothes and other relief supplies arrived today in Quetta, according to Al Rumaithy.



The plane was part of a relief campaign for Afghan refugees organised by the UAE RCS. Another two planes will arrive to Quetta within the coming few days as part of the RCS airlift supplies for Afghan refugees, Al Rumaithy added. (WAM)
