As part of its humanitarian and charity programmes in Afghanistan, the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) re-opened in Kabul last Thursday a complex for orphans and old people, which underwent rejuvenation worth Dh1.088-million at the expense of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, wife of the President H.H. President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and President of the General Women's Union.

The complex houses three buildings each of three stories. All are well equipped to suit the needs of their users. An RCS delegation attended the reopening ceremony and was briefed on the services rendered at the complex. The complex's inmates voiced their gratitude to H.H. President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for the assistance extended to them. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
