(WAM) A ship carrying 1000 tonnes of relief assistance left today for Karachi as part of the UAE Red Crescent Society's campaign to help the Afghan people. Sana Darwish Al Kutubi, RCS Secretary General, said the RCS would continue sending relief supplies to Afghan refugees through air and sea in implementation of instructions by President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to alleviate suffering of the Afghan people. ' The relief supplies, which include flour, rice, sugar, dates, milk powder, lentil, clothes, blankets and tents, will be distributed to refugees by the RCS team there,' she said, adding that another shipment would leave within the next few days. Part of these supplies, she noted, would go to the Chaman camp which would be completed soon. WAM
