RCS sends teams to offer urgent relief supplies to quake- stricken victims

In line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to offer urgent humanitarian assistance to the victims of the earthquake which rocked a number of Indian Sub-Continent countries, two teams from the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS, left Abu Dhabi yesterday for Pakistan and India to offer urgent humanitarian relief supplies in order to ease the sufferings of the victims and carefully study their urgent requirements.



Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, RCS Board Chairman said that the move is in line also with close supervision and follow up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and RCS Chairman, who ordered to expeditious action to the quake-stricken areas and provide the best relief services and humanitarian assistance to improve conditions of those affected by the devastating earthquake. 'These teams will buy urgent relief supplies from local markets to ensure quick handing over of necessary relief supplies to the victims of the horrible crisis', Al Suweidi added.
