The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) has so far spent a total amount of Dh34,951,598 on its relief programme for the Lebanese people. The amount covered the relief assistance delivered by air and sea to Lebanon since the beginning of the crisis.

The RCS is currently intensifying its efforts, seizing the opportunity provided by the ceasefire, to provide for those returning to their destroyed homes their needs to help alleviate their sufferings.

Having set up a number of centres along the roads leading to affected areas, the RCS gives to the returnees various kinds of assistance to provide them some relief when they reach home. The organisation has also set up similar centres at the Syria-Lebanon border to provide for the returnees the necessary logistics support.

According to Salah Mohammed Al Mulla, Acting RCS Secretary General, the RCS had begun a new phase in its support delivery programme for the Lebanese people after the ceasefire came into effect. He said the new phase include providing for the returnees the necessary requirements and creating for them a conducive atmosphere that would enable them settle home as quickly as possible.
