Islamabad (WAM) A delegation from the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) led by board member Mohammed Habroosh Al Rumaithi, arrived here today to complete procedures for building a camp for Afghan refugees who are fleeing from their country to Peshawar in Pakistan.



He said aid to Afghan refugees was ordered by President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces with the follow up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the RCS President. 'The four-phase camp will be built in a new location allotted by the Pakistani government with each stage accommodating 10,000 refugees who will be provided with basic services,' he added. He explained that he delegation would buy tents, food supplies, blankets and medicines from Pakistani local markets. He stressed that the team would exert utmost efforts to complete building the camp as quickly as possible and distribute relief supplies before the fall of winter. WAM
