Chairman of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Kabab has paid tributes to the leadership, government and people of the UAE for extending humanitarian assistance to the poor and needy people in Yemen. Al Kabab also expressed profound thanks to the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) for its humanitarian operations to assist people affected by the recent rock slide.

'This along with support for the recent campaigns to fight malaria and eye diseases have left good impression and comfort among the Yemeni people and drawn appreciation from officials,' he said during a meeting with Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, Chairman of the UAE RCS.

Al Suweidi reiterated his society's commitment to reach out to brethren and friends at hard times, affirming that no effort would be spared to relieve needy segments and those hit by disasters and crises. 'We will continue our humanitarian operations in Yemen.

Our next step is to build capacities of the Yemeni Red Crescent under the strategy of the International Federation of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies,' he added. Al Suweidi and his guest explored prospects of joint humanitarian partnership and efforts of enhancing mechanisms for prompt response to requirements of needy sectors. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
