RCS to deliver emergency relief assistance to Iraq

The UAE Red crescent Society, RCS, is to send emergency relief assistance in support of the humanitarian issue of the Iraqi people. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, has ordered that a campaign on emergency relief assistance for the Iraqi people be launched immediately to enhance the existing RCS humanitarian programme towards the Iraqi people in an effort to help alleviate their sufferings in their current difficult situation. According to Khalifa Nasir Al Suwaidi, RCS Board Chairman, the campaign, which would be launched tomorrow under the them: "The suffering Iraqi people seek the help of the Arab nation,” would cover every nook and corner of the country.



He said the RCS had earmarked 115 posts throughout the country where donations in cash and kind would be received. He said that donation can be sent through the following account numbers. Dubai Islamic Bank account no. 5782570 and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank account no. 10000155. A delegation from the RCS would leave here tomorrow for Baghdad to discharge a number of humanitarian duties there. Another delegation would leave on Monday for Jordanian capital, Amman, to assess the humanitarian situation of the refugees in Jordan for the necessary assistance to be delivered to them immediately.
