The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) will in a few days send its second and third batch of relief materials to victims of floods and torrential rains that hit Pasni and Armara areas in Baluchistan region of Pakistan. "The relief is on the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and close follow up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs," Khamis Al Suweidi, head of the RCS relief team, told Pakistani reporters at a press conference in Abu Dhabi yesterday. He said convoys carrying foodstuff, blankets and tents would head for Pasni and Armara in Baluchistan for distribution among the victims. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
