Randa Barri lauds Sheikha Fatima's humanitarian role

Randa Barri, wife of Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabieh Barri has lauded the humanitarian initiatives of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Honorary Chairwoman of the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS).



In remarks during a meeting with a RCS delegation in Beirut, Barri who heads the Lebanese Society for the Welfare of the Disabled, said: "Sheikha Fatima is truly a symbol of global philanthropy. She is always among the first to reach out to the distressed people anywhere in the world. Her sustained support to Lebanese people during and after the conflict is a source of pride to all of us".



She added: "Despite the tragic consequences of war, yet it united human sentiments towards the victims in Lebanon". Barri also expressed her appreciation for the programmes lined up by the RCS to alleviate the suffering of the war victims in Lebanon.



"The RCS did perform remarkably during the war and continues to do excellent job now", she said during the meeting which was attended by Khalifa Nasser Al Suweidi, Chairman of the board of directors of the RCS. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
