Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, yesterday ordered the Red Crescent Society to speed up the re-construction of houses destroyed by the Israeli military in the Jenin refugee camp. Sheikh Hamdan who chaired a meeting of the Society's Emergency and Relief Committee said that the need to speed up the reconstruction of the camp was in line with the instructions of President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He said that Sheikh Zayed was closely following up the tragic humanitarian situation of the Palestinian people and the efforts being exerted by the Red Crescent Society to ease their suffering.

Sheikh Hamdan also ordered that temporary lodgings to be rented for 300 families who lost their homes in Jenin during the brutal Israeli aggression and the renovation of 500 damaged houses. He also appealed to charitable people in the UAE to continue extending urgently needed assistance to their Palestinian brethren. Sheikh Hamdan also expressed his deep gratitude to all those who made donations during the fund raising campaigns held in support of the Palestinian people. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
