Red Crescent and UNOPS discuss cooperation

The Red Crescent Society in UAE and the Middle East Office of United Nations Office for Project Services, UNOPS discussed in Abu Dhabi yesterday aspects of cooperation in carrying out humanitarian and relief activities in countries suffering from natural calamities.



In a meeting between the acting Secretary General of the RCS Dr.Saleh Al Taie and the Regional Director of UNOPS' Middle East Office Philip Allan Lewis at the RCS headquarters in Abu Dhabi , they also discussed opportunities of partnership between the two sides in developmental projects in the countries devastated by natural disasters.



The meeting was also attended by Director of programme at the UNOPS office in UAE Ahmad Al Falasi and Director of Information and Public Relations at RCS Abdul Rahman Al Tunaiji. During the meeting Lewis explained the activities of UNOPS in rebuilding Afghanistan and appreciated the role played by RCS in guaranteeing better life for the people there.
