Red Crescent distributes sacrificial meat to needy around the world

The Red Crescent Society, RCS, today said that it started distributing the Eid Al Adha sacrificial meat to around 10,000 beneficiary families in the country. Khalifa Nasir Al Suweidi, Society's Board Chairman, said that the Society also dispatched 6,714 carcasses of sacrificial meat to more than 40 countries to be distributed to the poor, orphanages and hospitals. Beneficiary countries included Jordan, Bahrain, Bosnia, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Philippines, Niger, India, Yemen, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Albania, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Benin, Burkino Faso, Thailand, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Jamaica, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Ghana, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Egypt, Mauritania and Palestine. Suweidi commended the benevolence of the donors who made the Society's work a success. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
