The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has dispatched yesterday a consignment of relief materials for different districts in Baluchistan province to help victims who were displaced by flash floods, rains and snowfall that hit the region. "The consignment contains 750 tents, 4,000 blankets and more than 130,000 tonnes of foodstuff. Despite the tough terrain, we are determined to deliver relief to the needy families there," Khamis Mohammed Al Suweidi, Director of the RCA's Sharjah branch who leads the RCA delegation to Pakistan said.

Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, Director of Logistics and Supply at the Authority, said that all materials were purchased from local market and dispatched in a 12-hour journey by trucks. He underlined the vital role played by the UAE Embassy in Islamabad and Consulate in Karachi in facilitating the RCA mission through contacts with Pakistani officials.
