Mogadishu - The UAE relief team on Monday launched a convoy loaded with 35 tonnes of food aid to the Airport Refugee camp in Mogadishu.

The distribution of aid in the camp was supervised by representatives from the UAE Red Crescent Authority and Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation through coordination and cooperation with the Somali Red Crescent Authority.

The food aid, consisting of rice and edible oil, was distributed to 1,300 families in portions that would last each family for a month. The operation comes under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to help people affected by the famine. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
