The National Bonds Company (NBC) will start an SMS fundraising campaign today titled Call for Help to provide aid to victims of the war in Lebanon. UAE residents will be able to contribute to the campaign via their mobile phones by sending a text message to 4242 with the word Lebanon in the body of the message, which will charge the sender Dh10 as a donation.

The number started operating today and will receive donations until 10pm on August 6. The amount raised to date will be revealed on the Sama Dubai channel on August 5 during the fourth national bonds draw.

Donors also have the option to send contributions to account number 0020-600000-008 at the Emirates Islamic Bank. Nasser Al Sheikh, Vice-Chairman and CEO of National Bonds Corporation, called on residents to join the humanitarian effort to help the people of Lebanon. "We have already witnessed great acts of generosity from the UAE public and now we call upon their support for this campaign to further relieve the suffering," he said. The campaign is an NBC initiative in cooperation with the Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and the support of Etisalat. (Gulf News)
