Sarkozy receives Mohammed bin Zayed

Paris - French President Nicolas Sarkozy received at the Elysée Palace here General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Sheikh Mohammed conveyed to the French President the best wishes of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He reiterated the UAE's keenness on bolstering its friendship ties with France.

The meeting, which was attended also by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, reviewed developments in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and Iran. The Elysée Palace Spokesman David Martinon said President Sarkozy had discussed with Sheikh Mohammed bilateral cooperation in the economic, educational, and cultural spheres. Present also at the meeting were Sultan Saif Al Oryani, UAE Ambassador to France, and Yusuf Al Otaibeh, Director of International Affairs Department at the Crown Prince Court.
