Sarkozy was accompanied on the tour of the exhibition at the Emirates Palace Hotel, by General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy and Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.

Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), briefed the French President on the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum project as well as a number of other cultural projects designed in the island.

Sa'adiyat has been projected as the world-class cultural destination and will be home to some of the world's most prestigious museums and a performing arts centre. It will house the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi contemporary art museum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi universal museum, a performing arts centre, a maritime museum, the Sheikh Zayed National Museum and a Biennale Park with 19 pavilions.

Sarkozy viewed the model of the Sheikh Zayed National Museum and listened to the briefings on the variety of projects, which, once completed, will transform the entire cultural landscape of the region changing Abu Dhabi into the global cultural capital.

The French President said that he was profoundly impressed by the designs and the great vision behind them, adding that they reflect the country's policy, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to open up to the entire world and bring the various civilizations closer one another.
