Over five thousand pupils, their teachers and parents joined together in a triangular effort to create a magnificent science and arts exhibition in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Themed on science and art, the Scienceart , setup in more than 100 class rooms and corridors of the Model School in Abu Dhabi showcased a wide variety of exhibits covering science, culture, arts, literature, linguistics, history and commerce.

The special sections on the history and development of the United Arab Emirates, the Emirati heritage, Arabic language and the Islamic religion sparked great interest among the visitors, as UAE celebrated the 40th anniversary of its National Day. Children danced wearing the traditional Emirati costume.

"Scienceart also coincides with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Model School", said Principal Dr. Abdul Kader V.V who, thanked the UAE leadership for supporting education in the country.

Documentary films chronicling UAE s march into progress were shown at the venue.

A painting of the founding father of UAE late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan by a school student was placed above the exhibits. A little girl pointed towards its caption which read: " We will not forget".

The sections on environmental protection, renewable energy and sustainable development attracted the visitors. Students eloquently explained to them how we can live on this planet without depleting it. Using models made with their own hands, the students shed light on the techniques of bio gas production, solar energy and wind energy as well as other sources of future energy.

A stall on cancer and its various forms won continuous admiration from the visitors. As part of an awareness creation on the early detection of breast cancer , a student was seen cutting out and distributing tiny heart shaped cards on which it was written "Think Pink Live Green".

The stalls dedicated to commerce, Arabic, English and Indian languages were specially admired by visitors. In a live show, a boy was painting a fence in a homage to Mark Twain. In the Commerce stall students explained traditional and modern forms of agriculture and commerce.

In another stall, where the message of small scale industries was conveyed, a number of boys set up a small table top soap factory and made live demonstration of soap manufacturing. The Model Soap they were producing made excitement among the visitors.

Live models of solar system, earth and the seasons jointly developed by students and teachers also won praise from the visitors. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
